Members of the Breakaway business networking group are used to having breakfast together because they do it every week - but usually not after they’ve spent the night sleeping in a car park. To support the Benjamin Foundation’s Norwich Sleep Out – which highlights the issues of homelessness and raises vital funds to provide homes and support for local young people – 9 members of Breakaway slept in Marsh Ltd car park on Friday 11th
This was the second Norwich Sleep Out and bigger than the last one. Participants were sponsored to spend the night with just a sleeping bag and sheet of cardboard to protect them from the elements in order to raise awareness and funds. The event was open to everyone and whilst it cannot replicate homelessness, is intended to encourage people to think about the challenges faced by people sleeping outside on a nightly basis - particularly as the weather turns colder.
The team raised over £3,200 and we'd like to say thank you to all who sponsored us.
You can still sponsor the Breakaway members who took part part, you can donate online here.
